How Reliable are Models Based on Topological Index 3χv for the Prediction of Stability Constants?

چکیده
The theoretical models based on valence connectivity index of the 3rd order, 3χv, have been discussed in terms of their ability to predict stability of coordination compounds. The key factors for the success are: (1) the choice of reliable experimental data for the calibration of the model, (2) writing an appropriate constitutional formula (i.e. graph) of the complex, and (3) development of proper form of regression function. If these requirements were met, it is possible to obtain theoretical results comensurable with the experimental ones, i.e. of the sufficient quality to evaluate experimental methods or to propose the best values for stability constants.

Comparison of two methods for the estimation of stability of copper(II) bis-complexes with aromatic ligands relevant to Alzheimer's disease.
In order to compare the density functional theory (DFT) and the method with the molecular valence connectivity index of the 3rd order (3χv) in the estimation of stability constants log β2, we used copper(II) complexes with thioflavin-based intercalation compounds designed for application in Alzheimer's disease. Correlation of ten log β2 values calculated by DFT with 3χv yielded r=0.988 and S.E....
متن کاملA novel topological descriptor based on the expanded wiener index: Applications to QSPR/QSAR studies
In this paper, a novel topological index, named M-index, is introduced based on expanded form of the Wiener matrix. For constructing this index the atomic characteristics and the interaction of the vertices in a molecule are taken into account. The usefulness of the M-index is demonstrated by several QSPR/QSAR models for different physico-chemical properties and biological activities of a large...
متن کاملNovel Atom-Type-Based Topological Descriptors for Simultaneous Prediction of Gas Chromatographic Retention Indices of Saturated Alcohols on Different Stationary Phases
In this work, novel atom-type-based topological indices, named AT indices, were presented as descriptors to encode structural information of a molecule at the atomic level. The descriptors were successfully used for simultaneous quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR) modeling of saturated alcohols on different stationary phases (SE-30, OV-3, OV-7, OV-11, OV-17 and OV-25). At first...
متن کاملQSPR Analysis with Curvilinear Regression Modeling and Topological Indices
Topological indices are the real number of a molecular structure obtained via molecular graph G. Topological indices are used for QSPR, QSAR and structural design in chemistry, nanotechnology, and pharmacology. Moreover, physicochemical properties such as the boiling point, the enthalpy of vaporization, and stability can be estimated by QSAR/QSPR models. In this study, the QSPR (Quantitative St...
متن کاملModelling of copper(II) binding to pentapeptides related to atrial natriuretic factor using the 3χv connectivity index.
Using molecular graph theory we studied the binding of NSFRY-NH2 and 12 related pentapeptide amides to Cu(II) as a model system for atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) peptide interactions with copper. Linear regression models based on the valence connectivity index of the 3rd order (3χv) reproduced experimental stability constants (log β) for 1N, 2N, 3N, and 4N coordinated complexes with the stand...
